A 1.2 km guided zipline adventure among ancient giants – a breathtaking, highly personal journey into New Zealand as it once was. Feel your confidence grow as Ōkoheriki – one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s last ancient forests – surrounds you with unique flora and fauna. Fly six ziplines (longest 220 m), cross two suspended swing bridges, and step onto hidden treetop platforms up to six storeys high. Launch from a 1,000-year-old rimu, glide over fern-filled gullies, and meet friendly native birds. You might even hand-feed a toutouwai (North Island robin).

The Ultimate Rotorua Canopy Tour – New Zealand’s must do Eco-adventure

This is New Zealand’s most immersive zipline experience – a 2.5 km adventure through a rare ancient forest. The Ultimate keeps on giving with six ziplines that are steeper, longer, and faster, including a 400 m tandem race where you can fly side by side (up to 80 km/h). You’ll experience signature features you won’t find anywhere else: a floating staircase that climbs five storeys, a spiral staircase around an ancient tawa, NZ’s only volcanic cliff walkway 50 m above the valley, and four massive suspension bridges – there’s something new around every corner.

FAQ

How physically fit do you need to be?
Rotorua Canopy Tours pride themselves on offering an experience to almost everybody from 6yrs+. You should be comfortable walking on uneven ground, crossing swing bridges, climbing some stairs, and (if ever needed) walking up to 45 minutes to exit in poor weather or a medical situation. Guides will coach you the whole way.

Original Canopy Tour – 15-min van ride, then 300 m walk-in with gentle ups/downs; 128 stairs spread in small sections. 310 m flat walk out.

Ultimate Canopy Tour – 15-min van ride, then 550 m walk-in with some ups/downs; 220 stairs through the course; 500 m flat walk out.
