7 Day Wanaka Ski Holiday Package

Day 1 Arrive Queenstown > Wanaka

Driving time Queenstown to Wanaka 70 km / 1 hour

Arrive in Queenstown, the entry point to the Southern Lakes ski region.

Collect your rental car from Queenstown Airport before driving over the stunning Crown Range along New Zealand’s highest state highway. Mountains frame the road, snow dusting their slopes, and there are photo stops aplenty.

When you arrive in the vibrant, laid-back ski town of Wanaka, check in to your accommodation and get settled in. You can venture downtown to explore the stunning lakeside town, or relax in your accommodation while gearing up for your ski holiday adventures.

Day 2 Wanaka

Driving time Wanaka to Cardrona Alpine Resort 34 km / 45 minutes

Cardrona is a relaxed and friendly ski area that has been entertaining skiers and snowboarders for 35 years. Explore it all – wide open beginner trails, pristine groomers, fun free-ride terrain, and world class parks and pipes.

Treble Cone is the largest ski field in the Queenstown Lakes District, providing access to 550ha of rideable terrain. You’ll find something for all abilities. Covering a leg-burning 700m of vertical, Treble Cone is recognised for its long runs and uncrowded piste and off-piste trails.

Day 3 Wanaka

Day two of your 4-Day Pass includes:

Have an amazing ski experience at either Cardrona or Treble Cone, then share the trials and triumphs at après-ski in Wanaka.

Day 4 Wanaka

Day three of your 4-Day Pass includes:

Really explore the mountain today, ticking off trails as you venture around your favourite runs.

In the evening, while you’re resting those legs, you might like to catch a movie at Wanaka’s famous local theatre, Cinema Paradiso (hint: the homemade cookies and ice cream at half time are delicious).

Day 5 Wanaka

Day 6 Queenstown

Recover and rejuvenate!

Check out what Wanaka township has to offer. Take a long, lazy lunch beside the lake, visit Puzzling World or the National Toy and Transport Museum, or take a walk along one of the stunning tracks. For a bit of fun, spend the day at Crossfire, which has clay bird shooting, archery ranges, and a mini putt course.

Driving time Wanaka to Queenstown 70 km / 1 hour

After you have explored Wanaka, drive to Queenstown for two nights of relaxation and exploration.

Day 7 Queenstown

Spend the day taking a look around the stunning lakeside town. Any activity in Queenstown can be added to your ski package to finish your holiday on a high – suggestions include the Shotover Jet, night skiing at Coronet Peak, 4WD safaris to Middle-Earth, and lake cruises.

To recharge, add a lunch or dinner at Walter Peak Station or at the top of the Skyline Gondola.

Day 8 Depart Queenstown

At your leisure, drop your rental car off at Queenstown Airport and depart Queenstown.
