Day 1 Arrive Queenstown

Arrive in New Zealand’s premier ski destination, Queenstown! The scene of adventure, beauty, relaxation, and entertainment, Queenstown is sure to impress. Collect your rental car from the airport and head off to discover the attractive lakeside town, or simply unwind in your accommodation.

Stay 3 nights in Queenstown.

Day 2 Queenstown

Driving time Queenstown to Coronet Peak 16 km / 25 minutes
Driving time Queenstown to The Remarkables 24 km / 45 minutes

Day 3 Queenstown

Day two of your 2-Day NZSki Pass includes:

• Full-Mountain Lift Pass at Coronet Peak or The Remarkables

Fire up those legs and head up Coronet Peak or The Remarkables Ski Field.

Day 4 Wanaka

Relax and rejuvenate. Indulge in a day of exploration in Queenstown, the adventure capital of New Zealand, with the option to add on any Queenstown activities. Favourites include jet boating and scenic helicopter flights.

Driving time Queenstown to Wanaka 70 km / 1 hour

After exploring Queenstown, drive over the stunning Crown Range to Wanaka along New Zealand’s highest state highway. Mountains frame the road, snow dusting their slopes, and there are photo stops aplenty.

When you arrive in the vibrant, laid-back ski town of Wanaka, check in to your accommodation and get settled in. You can venture downtown to check out the lake and the local shops, or relax in your accommodation while gearing up for your ski adventures.

Day 5 Wanaka

Driving time Wanaka to Cardrona Alpine Resort 34 km / 45 minutes
Driving time Wanaka to Treble Cone 29 km / 40 minutes

Breathe in the fresh mountain air; it’s time to conquer Cardrona or Treble Cone.

Cardrona is a relaxed and friendly ski area that has been entertaining skiers and snowboarders for 35 years. Explore it all – wide open beginner trails, pristine groomers, fun free-ride terrain, and world class parks and pipes.

Treble Cone is the largest ski field in the Queenstown Lakes District, providing access to 550ha of rideable terrain. You’ll find something for all abilities. Covering a leg-burning 700m of vertical, Treble Cone is recognised for its long runs and uncrowded piste and off-piste trails.

Day 6 Franz Josef

Driving time Wanaka to Franz Josef 285 km / 4 hours

With an abundance of short walks and scenic stops on the Haast Pass Highway, your journey to Franz Josef will be filled with exploration. As you head further north towards New Zealand’s most famous glaciers, you will wind through lush rainforest and past stunning coastal vistas.

A scenic helicopter flight is available as an add-on, where you will glide above Westland National Park for stunning views of the Southern Alps before landing in the snow.

Stay 1 night in Franz Josef.

Day 7 Greymouth > Christchurch

Driving time Franz Josef to Greymouth 180 km / 2.5 hours

Train travel Greymouth to Christchurch 223 km / 138 miles, 4.5 hours

Take the scenic drive north to Greymouth, where you will drop off your rental car and climb aboard the TranzAlpine train for the ‘trip of a lifetime.’ You will cut through the majestic Southern Alps, with thrilling vistas over deep gorges and brilliant rivers, before passing into the gentle farmlands of the Canterbury plains.
