Bularangi Fishing Coromandel

Bularangi’s primary aim is to chase trout in the Coromandel Rivers! The Coromandel Ranges boasts some awesome brown and rainbow trout fishing on its many rivers. Enjoy fly fishing New Zealand with a guided day trip.

These guided Coromandel fly fishing trips usually are in the Ohinemuri, Waitawheta, Komata, Hikutaia and Tairua Rivers. These rivers are all close to the township of Waihi. However, there are many rivers and tributaries that they can access in the Coromandel Ranges.

With access to tributaries on DOC land that the general public do not have access to. You will enjoy a quiet, uninterrupted day of fly fishing in an area only accessible with a guide. All fishing areas are accessed by 4WD and then on foot to the rivers.

Other Information on New Zealand Fly Fishing

  • Maximum two people for a more personalised day
  • All fishing areas are accessed by 4WD and then on foot to the rivers
  • Access to the following rivers – Ohinemuri, Waitawheta, Komata, Hikutaia & Tairua, not accessible by the general public
  • Access to other rivers and tributaries is possible. Please enquire if you have a specific river or location in mind.
  • The fly fishing season in New Zealand runs primarily from October through to April. With the majority of river fishing occurring in these warmer summer months.
  • In southern area of Coromandel the rivers are open for winter fishing with regulation in place. Please enquire for further information on winter fly fishing in these areas.
