Wairoa River Tour
- Explore the upper reaches of the Wairoa River from Omanawa
- No prior experience required for this picturesque flat water paddle to Waimarino
- Enjoy the peaceful wildlife as you float past in your sea kayak
- Stop en route for a snack or just simply relax on the side and watch time drift by

Sea Kayak Tour
- Explore the wildlife surrounding the Tauranga Harbour in the comfort of a sea kayak
- Paddle past old Maori pa sites above the majestic white cliffs of Motuhoa Island, see the sights of Te Puna as you explore the waterways developed by the old Maori taniwha Te Pura and Poripori

Trout Fishing Tour
- The rivers and lakes in the Eastern Bay of Plenty area are teeming with big, beautiful trout and your professional guide knows exactly where to find the fish and how to get you there……
- Allow the native forest to envelop you as you meander around the twists and turns in the river
- Stop for lunch & experience an untouched wilderness in the heart of New Zealand
- You have the opportunity to fish from a Canadian canoe, expertly maneuvered by your guide on either Lake Aniwhenua, Flaxy Lake and the Waimana, Whakatane and Rangitaiki rivers
* Your guide can assist you if you are a novice angler, or for the more experienced angler, they will take you where the fish are and be available for support only if required. Max 1:1. All Gear provided.
Kayak Ocean Fishing Tour
- As the sun emerges from beneath the horizon and casts the first rays of light over the ocean, where else would you want to be other than right there?
- Imagine letting out your line and feeling those tentative nibbles just before the first bite of the day that sends you into a flurry of excitement and a whirring of reels
- Know the feeling of being alone in the mighty blue yonder with only your experienced guide and the seabirds above you for company. You know there is more to life… and fishing is it!
* Waimarino provides everything you need, remember your catch is guaranteed or you go again for free! Common catches are Snapper, Gurnard and Kahawai. Min 2 people.
Whakatane River Trip – Ruatahuna to Ruatoki
- Can you imagine four days away from it all – starting deep within Te Urewera National Park
- Stay on a Marae, experiencing the warmth of Tuhoe culture and hospitality, kayak the slow moving Whakatane River, arrive at camp sights where the native bush explodes out onto the river verge – this rough beauty is gentle enough to impress yet immense enough to be respected.
- Day 1: 2pm meet at Waimarino, 3pm depart Ruatahuna, 6pm Oputao Marae stay, 7pm tea.
- Day 2: 7.30am breakfast, 9am head to river, 12pm lunch, 4pm arrive at Tawhiwhi hut, 6pm tea.
- Day 3: 7.30am breakfast, 9 am depart down river, 12pm lunch, 4pm arrive at Hanamahihi Hut, 6.30pm dinner.
- Day 4: 7am breakfast, 8.30am depart, 12pm lunch, 3pm arrive at Ruatoki, 5pm fish n chips in Matata, 8 pm arrive back in Tauranga.
*Minimum 4 persons. All meals catered for. All equipment provided except sleeping bags and bed rolls.
Hunting & fishing options available as additions POA.
Other Information
- Double sea kayaks, paddles, spray decks, buoyancy aids, fleeces & paddle jackets all included.
- Transport is included in the tour prices from Waimarino to the activity launch site and return.
- Tours can operate in almost all weather conditions, please contact Waimarino if in doubt.
- The cooler or wetter the weather the more equipment Waimarino provides for the client.
- Please inform Waimarino of any dietary issues or medical conditions.
- Pick up/drop off vehicle transfers are available to/from your accommodation to Waimarino/launch site. Vehicle transfers to/from your accommodation in Tauranga and Mount Maunganui are $25 per vehicle per collection point. Papamoa or Katikati areas are $50 per vehicle per collection point.
