Named after Queen Victoria who was in reign when Sennen House was built.

Sir Joseph Banks’ Apartment

Named after the English naturalist, botanist & science patron who took part in Captain James Cook’s first great voyage.

  • Comfortable and inviting, decorated in tranquil green and deep cream
  • Queen Size Bed and a Single Bed
  • Private open plan lounge and kitchen with fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave, sink and stove top
  • Spacious sunny secluded north-facing balcony with wonderful outlook to the native bushclad hill

James Cook Apartment

Named after Captain James Cook, the great British explorer who first discovered New Zealand in 1769 and landed at Ships Cove in the Marlborough Sounds on January 16th 1770.

Named after the Edwin Fox, the world’s ninth oldest wooden sailing ship, docked in Picton harbour.

Reservations can be made as a huge two bed roomed combination, incorporating the Queen Charlotte Suite. This option allows guests exclusive use of the grand main entrance of the house with its ornately panelled hallway, hand carved dado rail, beautifully carved newel post & native timber panelled staircase.

Queen Charlotte Suite

Named after Queen Charlotte, after whom the Queen Charlotte Sound takes its name.

  • Decorated in cool lemon, jade and terracotta with an ornately carved four poster King Size Bed
  • Dining area and comfortable leather sofa
  • Separate small kitchen fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave
  • Bathroom with bath & shower
  • Opens onto a private and secluded brick patio beneath the 100-year-old camellia tree

Breakfast

A generous and varied breakfast hamper is provided for you, in your room, allowing you to take your breakfast in private, at a time to suit just you. Breakfast includes juice, fruit bowl, fresh bread, home-made preserves, seasonal fruit salad, yoghurt, cereals, free range eggs, milk and New Zealand honey.
