Salt Air is a New Zealand Air Service Operator offering spectacular aeroplane or helicopter scenic flights around New Zealand’s maritime playground the Bay of Islands as well as offering scheduled air services between Kerikeri, Whangarei and Auckland.

Activity Options

Cape Reinga Fly/Drive Half Day Tour

• The alternative way to travel to the Cape, for those not looking for an 11 to 12 hour bus trip!

  Fly up to Cape Reinga via Northland’s spectacular harbour’s and beautiful beaches such as Coopers Beach, Doubtless Bay and of course the famous Ninety Mile Beach.

• Land at our airfield, only 20km from the Cape Reinga lighthouse. A comfortable air-conditioned mini-bus will take you on a tour around the top of New Zealand. You will reach the Cape Reinga Lighthouse where the Tasman Sea meets the Pacific Ocean.

• There is time for a stroll on the beach, and a quick swim if desired, then we move across to the Te Paki quicksand stream with its giant sand dunes; (we have sleds available for those who wish to experience the exhilaration of sliding down the sand dunes and try some "sand surfing").

Auckland – Cape Reinga return including Bay of Islands Day Tour

• Depart from Sky City Central Auckland and enjoy a breakfast box on your transfer coach. Fly to the Bay of Islands via the world famous 90 mile beach.

• Land at Cape Rianga where you will enjoy a coach journey to explore this magical area. Have the opportunity to experience the exhilaration of sand tobogganing.

• Rejoin the aircraft and fly via the east coast and see pure white silica sand and crystal clear water, the Cavalli Islands, Kauri Cliffs Golf Course and more. From Kerikeri airport a courtesy vehicle will take you to Paihia, the hub of the Bay of Islands for a few hours in the afternoon.

• Feel free to explore this historical area, walk along the beautiful beach or do some shopping. Enjoy a return flight to Auckland, where transport will be waiting for you to transfer you back to your accommodation. Departure: 6.30 am

Auckland – Bay of Islands Day Tour

• Depart from Sky City central Auckland and enjoy a breakfast box on your transfer coach. Fly to the Bay of Islands & on arrival, a courtesy vehicle will take you to Paihia, the hub of the Bay of Islands.

• Enjoy a one way ferry ticket to or from Russell at your leisure to explore this historic town, co-ordinated with your 3 hour Bay of Islands, Dolphin Watching Cruise to the Hole in the Rock.

• At a pre-arranged time we will take you to your aircraft for your return flight to Auckland, where transport will be waiting for you to transfer you back to your accommodation.

Charter Flights

• Salt Air can provide charter flights to any destination within New Zealand. Depending on the number of people travelling, chartering an aircraft can be more economical than commercial airlines.

• Salt Air offers a charter service between Auckland and the Far North. Yourself or that special guest are met at the airport of your choice in Auckland or if on an international flight at the arrivals gate and then flown direct to the Bay of Islands, where a courtesy shuttle is available to transport you to your accommodation.
