Skippers Canyon

Complete half-day heritage 4WD tour into the historic Skippers Canyon.

  • Travel the road, hacked by hand into the sheer cliff sides of the Shotover River Valley.
  • As your guide navigates this awe-inspiring canyon you will visit many historic sites such as the Skippers Suspension Bridge and the township of Skippers.
  • Visit the restored school house where you will gain a real insight into the local heritage through photos and histories of life in this tough environment & even try a spot of gold panning.

Te Tapu-Nui

Let Nomad Safaris take you to the summit of Te Tapu-Nui (mountain of intense sacredness).

  • This area has a rich and diverse history to explore, from the first Maori to the gold miners, coupled with spectacular, all-encompassing views of Queenstown.
  • An optional 1hour walk is also available which descends from the summit down into Queenstown town centre. This really is an experience not to be missed.

Nomad Safaris offers low passenger to driver ratio with a maximum of 4 clients per guide. This ensures that trips are personalised and guarantees attention to detail not found with larger groups.
