Heliworks Aoraki Mt Cook Scenic Flights

Heliworks operate Mount Cook scenic flights in conjunction with Aoraki Mount Cook Ski Planes and are the only helicopter company licensed to land on the Tasman Glacier, the longest Glacier in New Zealand.

Departing from Mt Cook Airport, these exclusive flights offer customers the thrill of a helicopter ride in one of the Southern Alp’s most spectacular locations.

Activity Options

Glacier Highlights (HCA1)

• Fly the length of the Tasman Glacier to view spectacular scenery and majestic mountains that seem almost close enough to touch. Land on the glacier & absorb the pristine alpine environment.

Duration – Approx. 40 minutes. Includes glacier snow landing.

Grand Circle(HCA2)

• Panoramic views of the Southern Alps. See majestic Aoraki/Mt Cook at close range, then fly across the Main Divide for an overview of the West Coast glaciers – the Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers, re-crossing the Main Divide to the mighty Tasman Glacier. Experience the unique thrill of a landing on one of these three great glaciers.

Duration: Approx. 55 minutes. Includes Glacier Snow Landing.

Mini Tasman (HCA4)

• Fly alongside the Liebig Range and Murchinson Glacier, then over the Tasman Glacier and past the spectacular Hochstetter Icefall below Aoraki/Mt Cook.

Duration: Approx. 25 minutes.

Alpine Wonderland (HCA3)

• A spectacular overview of the Southern Alps. Fly over the mighty Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers and around the towering peaks of Aoraki/Mt Cook and Mount Tasman.

Duration: Approx. 45 minutes.
