Wilderness Safari Half Day: Jet Boat Action – Ancient Forest Walk -Scenic Back-Road Tour

• Spectacular 1 1⁄2 hour Dart River Jet Boat journey – view breathtaking snow-capped mountains, ancient native forest, waterfalls and glacial valleys frozen in time.

• Easy guided 30 – 40 minute walk through the ‘Heritage Trail’ at Paradise, learn about the ancient native beech forest, the unique flora and fauna and fascinating Maori and colonial history.

• You‘ll also journey by 4WD coach via a scenic back-road route, while hearing stories about the surrounding countryside and stopping to view scenery filmed on ‘The Lord of the Rings’.

Funyak Safari: Jet Boat Action – Funyak Rafting – Scenic Back-Road Tour

• Travel an exciting 1 1⁄4 hours up the Dart River by Jet Boat – jet spins – shallow river Jet Boating

• Then begin your Funyak rafting journey in a unique inflatable ‘Funyak’ canoe. After full instructions, you’ll be free to canoe and drift for a spectacular 2 hours downstream (under the watchful eye of your professional guide).

• You’ll stop amongst the ancient beech forest to enjoy a wilderness buffet lunch, before canoeing downstream to Paradise, where you’ll be taken by 4WD coach to Glenorchy.

• Life jacket and spray jacket provided
• Wilderness and Jet Boat Safaris minimum age 3 years
• Funyak Safari minimum age 5 years
• Minimum child height 1 metre

What to bring:

• Summer: sunglasses, sunhat and sunscreen recommended
• Winter: wear warm clothing – hat, gloves, jacket, windproof outer jacket and eyewear
• Funyaks – bring swim wear and towel. No experience required.
