Activity Options

Mills Reef Wine Tasting  

• Fly into Tauranga’s, award wining winery, Mills Reef for an informative tour and plenty of wine tasting! While flying enjoy views of the stunning Tauranga Harbour, City and Kaimai ranges.
• Treat yourself to lunch in the Mills Reef Restaurant (own cost).

Tuhua (Mayor Island)- Tauranga

• Enjoy a half day guided tramp through one of NZ’s largest Pohutukawa forests, visit the Devils Staircase, where tribes would defend the island in battle and Visit the “Big Tree” a massive pohutukawa specimen with a girth exceeding 11 metres!
• You will see and hear many of native birds including bellbirds, tuis, wood pigeons, morepork, kaka , grey warbler, waxeye, kingfisher, the harrier hawk and watch out for the KIWI.

Moderate fitness and tramping boots recommended. Children under 20 kg’s cannot be carried due to life jacket restrictions. A full day tour can be organised to include diving, kayaking, or an extended trek.

Evening Glow Worm Dinner

• Imagine flying by helicopter to McLaren falls and stepping out onto the shores of Lake McLaren where an exquisite dinner will be waiting from one of Tauranga’s finest cafés and a bottle of award-winning wine from the local Mills Reef winery.
• As the evening settles, experienced guides escort you around the lake to the glow-worms. This spectacular sight is only visible by kayak, where you will enter the amazing glow-worm canyon.

Hidden Valley Thermal Explorer

• Take off over native forest, lakes and rivers towards awe-inspiring and sacred Mount Tarawera. View the massive rift in the mountain caused by its violent eruption in 1886 – an eruption that buried whole villages and destroyed the 8th wonder of the world.
• Then head for ‘the hidden valley’ – the mystical Orakei Korako geothermal reserve. Explore this geothermal wonder (with its boiling mud pools, steaming lakes and leaping geysers) at your leisure. This package also includes a short, scenic boat transfer to the Orakei Korako (’the hidden valley’).
• On your return, fly over the city of Rotorua and the sparkling lakes that give it its name.

Waitomo Caves

• Fly to see one of the world’s most beautiful and enchanting natural spectacles – an underground tour of glow worm displays at Waitomo Caves.
• You’ll see glowworms up close and learn exactly why they glow, then float quietly in a raft on an underground river – gliding gently beneath galaxies of glowworms.
• To make your magical tour complete, you are taken to the nearby Te Ana o te Atua, (Cave of the Spirit), where clever lighting and gently sweeping paths are used to reveal fascinating stories of a cave whose river has deserted it.

Heli-Fishing Experience

• If you’re a keen angler, what a treat it is to board an Aerius Helicopter and fly to one (or several) of New Zealand’s best fishing spots. Choose to rock-fish the coast of an off-shore island for fat Snapper, big-game fish the legendary waters of Northland, or go trout fishing in pristine waters.
