Day 1 Queenstown

Arrive in Queenstown, New Zealand’s adventure capital. Choose from an exciting range of optional activities including thrilling jet boat rides, paragliding, rafting, scenic flights, 4WD safaris, winery tours, lake cruises and more. Stay 2 nights in Queenstown.

Day 2 Queenstown -> Milford Sound

Enjoy a scenic coach journey through heartland New Zealand to reach Milford Sound where you will enjoy a 2.5 hour Milford Sound Nature Cruise. Stare in amazement as Milford Sound will impress! Sheer cliffs, towering snow capped mountains, cascading waterfalls, hanging valleys, sub-tropical rain forests, marine life… words just don’t do it justice, you have to see it for yourself! After your cruise relax while your coach cruises through stunning scenery delivering you back to your Queenstown accommodation.

Day 3 Wanaka

Driving time Queenstown to Wanaka 70 km / 43 miles, 1 hour

Drive over the beautiful Crown Range, New Zealand’s highest State Highway and admire the vistas from fantastic viewing points. Be sure to stop at the historic Cardrona Hotel for a refreshment before your arrival into Wanaka, boasting panoramic views, a relaxing atmosphere and a myriad of walking tracks. Indulge in an optional jet boat safari within Mt Aspiring National Park. Stay 1 night in Wanaka.

Day 4 Fox or Franz Josef – Glacier Country

Driving time Wanaka to Fox Glacier 262 km / 163 miles, 3.5 hours OR
Driving time Wanaka to Franz Josef 285 km / 177 miles, 4 hours

Discover the Haast Pass Highway, there are many short walks and natural attractions to view along the way. Continue north, through dense rain forest broken by rugged coastal vistas, towards Fox or Franz Josef Glacier township. Take a 20 minute scenic helicopter flight sweeping above Westland National Park as you explore the Glaciers before landing in the snow. Stay 2 nights in Fox or Franz Josef.

Day 5 Fox or Franz Josef – Glacier Country

Discover the glaciers today and add on a Guided Half Day Glacier Walk to gain a true glacial experience where you will hike on the lower reaches of either glacier. Then relax in the Glacier Hot Pools, the perfect way to unwind and experience a blissful state of pure relaxation. Day 6 Hokitika

Day 7 Greymouth -> Christchurch

Drive north for 30 minutes to reach Greymouth where you will drop off your rental car and board your TranzAlpine Train which journeys from the West to East Coast. Your train travels through the spectacular Southern Alps, gorges and river valleys before reaching the fields of the Canterbury Plains. Arrive in the garden city of Christchurch. Stay 1 night in Christchurch (city or close to airport).
