Day 1 Arrive Auckland

Auckland – the “City of Sails” is New Zealand’s largest city and is bordered by two stunning harbour’s. Pick up your rental car from Auckland Airport and make your way to your accommodation in the central city. Stay 1 night in Auckland City.

In the evening join Explore NZ for a Dinner Cruise on Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour aboard a purpose-built yacht. Enjoy tasty New Zealand fare, including some traditional Kiwi favorites! As the sun sets, watch the lights of this photogenic city come alive. Your experienced crew will describe Auckland’s unique sights and those wishing to participate in the sailing can do so.

Day 2 Bay of Islands

Driving time Auckland to Bay of Islands 219 km / 136 miles, 3 hours

Drive to the Bay of Islands renowned for its 144 Islands and surreal maritime park where an abundance of marine life includes whales, penguins and dolphins. In the afternoon enjoy a Discover the Bay – Swim with the Dolphins Cruise. You don’t have to swim with the dolphins as you can stay on board and take in the sights and excitement, but if swimming with the dolphins is a lifetime dream this trip will be a highlight! Stay 2 nights in Paihia, Bay of Islands.

Day 3 Bay of Islands

Today venture off-road to Cape Reinga via 90 Mile Beach! Enjoy this full day trip that takes you to New Zealand’s northernmost tip. Leaving Paihia your first stop is the Gum diggers park where ancient Kauri forest was buried thousands of years ago. Next stop is the famous Ninety Mile Beach, where you will soak in breathtaking views that go on forever as you drive along this highway of the North ‘the beach’! Take the opportunity to climb the giant sand dunes and toboggan back down – load of fun, then arrive at Cape Reinga as you enjoy magnificent sweeping views where the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean meet. Fascinating commentary on the historical and cultural points of interest along the way, plus visit the world famous Mangonui Fish Shop on the way home and enjoy the freshest fish and chips!

Day 4 Auckland

Driving time Bay of Islands to Auckland 219 km / 136 miles, 3 hours

Drive back to Auckland at your leisure. Enjoy your last night in this exciting city with many things on offer – you choose how you want to celebrate you last night in paradise. Stay 1 night in Auckland City.

Day 5 Depart Auckland

Depart Auckland at your leisure.
