Day 1 Arrive Auckland

Auckland – the “City of Sails” is New Zealand’s largest city and is bordered by two stunning harbour’s. Pick up your rental car from Auckland Airport and make your way to your accommodation in the central city. Stay 1 night in Auckland City.

In the evening join Explore NZ for a Dinner Cruise on Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour aboard a purpose-built yacht. Enjoy tasty New Zealand fare, including some traditional Kiwi favorites! As the sun sets, watch the lights of this photogenic city come alive. Your experienced crew will describe Auckland’s unique sights and those wishing to participate in the sailing can do so.

Day 4 Rotorua

Driving time Auckland to Rotorua 235 km / 146 miles, 3 hours

Rotorua is distinguished by Maori culture and geothermal activity, this diverse city will put on a display as you encounter geysers, mud pools, steaming craters and 16 beautiful lakes. Stay 1 night in Rotorua.

Stroll through Hells Gate, a steaming thermal reserve. See bubbling mud pools, hot springs and even try Maori weaving and wood carving!

In the evening enjoy an unique Maori Cultural Experience including a Hangi Dinner. Experience an authentic Maori welcome. Relax and enjoy the beautiful waiata (songs) and the world renowned haka (challenge). Learn Maori customs including Maori musical instruments, haka and poi. The dining experience is a culinary opportunity like no other. A range of delicacies have been designed to complement the time honoured hangi (earth oven cooked meal) and other well known New Zealand delights. Following dessert, you will be transported down into the valley to conclude your evening beside the awe inspiring Pohutu geyser.

Day 5 Taupo

Driving time Rotorua to Taupo 76 km / 47 miles, 1 hour

Enjoy a short drive south to Taupo, rich in natural beauty with attractions such as the Huka Falls, world-class trout fishing, relaxing boat cruises, and bungy jumping. Enjoy a Scenic Floatplane Flight over Taupo and beyond. Take off from Taupo Bay, pass Acacia Bay to Rangatira Point, viewing the crystal clear waters of Whakaipo Bay. Climb up through Mapara Valley, view red scoria quarries, then enjoy highlights including flying over the ‘Craters of the Moon’. Stay 1 night in Taupo.

Day 4 Auckland

Driving time Taupo to Auckland 284 km / 176 miles, 3.5 hours

Drive back to Auckland at your leisure. Enjoy your last night in this exciting city with many things on offer – you choose how you want to celebrate you last night in paradise. Stay 1 night in Auckland City.
